After our sell-out performance in late 2018 Arafura Music Collective and PeeWees at the Point once more collaborate to bring a new chamber music program to Darwin audiences.

Under the creative direction of Sydney musician Jenny Eriksson, Arafura Collective presents “Re- Imaginings” an innovative performance which weaves together a program featuring the formal beauty of baroque music of composers Couperin, Geminiani, Marais and Telemann with other compositions and composers influenced by the Baroque. These "reinventions" encompass a range of styles including folk, jazz and even a bit of rock!

Who will love this event? Anyone who seeks a definitive Darwin cultural experience! Spend your Sunday afternoon in the Wet relaxing and listening to live music, enjoying a glass of fine wine or cool drink and fine food, in an exquisite air-conditioned venue, with amazing views of the Darwin harbour. Children welcome!

Our guest artist Jenny Eriksson. Jennifer Eriksson is a an internationally recognised master musician of the Viola da Gamba and baroque music specialist, recognised for her innovative approach to performance integrating the ancient with 21st century approaches to chamber music. She has a mission to bring the sounds of the beautiful and ancient instrument to as many people as possible. Jenny has founded a number of innovative music ensembles; The Marais Project, Da Vinci’s Apprentice, and Elysian Fields, Australia’s only electric viola da gamba ensemble.

Each ticket includes a selection of an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink and a trio tasting plate. Come early from 3 pm for a drink and tasting plate or stay after for a drink and chat with the musicians whilst watching the sun sink over the Darwin harbour.
