Sunshine Coast Council proudly presents Seniors Dance Workshops with Queensland Ballet to be held at the beautiful Venue 114.
To celebrate Seniors Month, Sunshine Coast Council is offering four fun workshops curated by Queensland Ballet. Around the world, adults of all ages are discovering what Queensland Ballet has long known – that dance is a great way to increase fitness, improve stamina and have a whole lot of fun. As we get older, keeping our bodies strong and agile becomes even more important. Queensland Ballet’s Seniors Week workshops are designed to stimulate the body and minds of active older people. No previous experience is necessary.
Morning and afternoon tea available as a pre-purchase with your ticket which will include the following- Scone with Jam and Cream, Tea or Barista Made Coffee from our onsite Zest Coffee van.
Ballet for Seniors
Feel better, think better, live better – with ballet. This gentle class is specially tailored for active older adults with a focus on improving poise, core strength, memory, and mobility. Discover or rediscover artistry through the joy of movement!
Jazz for Seniors:
Grounded in jazz technique and artistry, this class is tailored to be inclusive of beginner-level older adults with no turns, jumps or floor work.
Seniors Stretch:
This class takes you through exercises that will lengthen and condition the key muscles we use in dance classes, particularly focusing on core and alignment to keep your body healthy and revived.
AM Session
9.00am – 10am – Ballet for Seniors
10.00am- 10.30am Morning Tea break
10.30am- 11.30am Seniors Stretch Class
PM Session
12.30am- 1.30am Seniors Jazz Class
1.30pm- 2.00pm Afternoon Tea Break
2.00pm – 3.00pm Seniors Stretch Class
